    I buy the 3,000+ yard cones of Gutermann thread. Any ideas for those plastic cones?? I have just been tossing them into the recycling bin.

    I use the Gutermann spools to keep my embroidery strands organized as I work on a project -- love that the slotted end

    You could fill one of those clear lamp bases with them and make a lamp for your sewing room.

    I saved mine all last year and then wound scraps of Christmas fabric around them, glued in place and strung on a long length of ribbon. Garland to decorate my sewing room!

    I finally accumulated way to many just "waiting" for a project. I finally tossed them. It felt good to reduce the "stuff" I had that was just taking up space.

    I put a bunch of old wooden spools inside and old green canning jar. It sits in my quilting room on a shelf.
