    Wow, these are excellent responses!! Thank you!! I think it sounds pretty unanimous that I should keep my beloved 6600 and add a midarm or longarm to my sewing space. You are so right. Now I will investigate all the suggestions you've given me. Thanks again!

    I think I am going to purchase a mid arm machine. I have the Brother 1500 and the Janome 8900. I love them both dearly, but I think I will add either the BabyLock Tiara or the Sweet 16 Handiquilter. I have a small sewing room, so a longarm is out of the question.
