Aurifil 50 wt has very low lint. My favorite thread for piecing by far. I normally get a cone and noticed that Craftsy had them recently for $29.50, which is an awesome price but their color selection is low right now. Lots of Etsy or Ebay sellers have them priced reasonably as well. I bought a cone of natural white for around $35 on Etsy.

I don't do as much quilting as I use to. On my Bernina, I still like to use what the Bernina dealership recommended and that is Mettler Silk finished thread. Never in 20 years of using that thread have I ever had a problem. I want to keep my Bernina very happy.

I also like Connecting threads. I find they are the most reasonable and have all the colors I need. They also have a nice line of 70 wt polyester thread that I use a lot for piecing...

Same here. Mettler and also Gutermann. It is what they recommended and all I have used in the past. Although I did buy some King Tut at a quilting show and just ordered the pink pack from Sulky so have some new to try and compare!

I have found Signature thread to work well for me. It is fine enough and not too linty. Of course, Auerfil is the best, but also rather pricey....depends on what you want it for and if your machine will like it.

I like to buy Aurifil from http://www.hawthornethreads.com/. They have great prices on cones/large spools & also carry the smaller spools that I need for my applique.
    $38.95/cone + $5.50 flat rate shipping.

So Fine superior thread in the large cones. It comes in different weights including 50. Very little lint. Easy tension control.
