    Exactly what Altairss said but I will add these do get heavy, but using the 2 layers of flannel you do get the rag look. So cute! So soft! So worth it! I have also done one with a combination on top of cotton, chenille, flannel and minkee.

    Minkey also sheds terribly on the cut edges. I would make your rag quilt and back it with it. Makes a soft quilt and I have used batting with it. But I found that the spray dates didn't adhere very well. So I would pin it too. Never had trouble quilting on it.
