I take all the thread out of pockets. I sew the pocket to piece of denim so I can fray it. Also sew it with bright colored thread. Use the side seam for purse strap what ever length you want. I have made so many but never taken a picture. I also so buttons on like hearts, beach stuff, etc.

When I use the pockets on jean quilts I also take all the thread out and match the color thread to the flannel on the back.

Would love to see a picture of the bandanna through the belt loops. I do a lot of patching of jeans, so have these things around all the time.

I made a great purse for my sister a few years ago using jean pockets. Google it and you will find dozens of patterns to try.

If you can't find a use for them, offer them on the section here and just ask for postage costs. Someone can use them.

I used the seam ripper and carefully removed the zipper.
For some reason I thought the zipper would be longer, but
seeing it removed from the jeans.

MAYBE it is 5-6" long (didn't measure it).

I cut the denim as close around the pockets as I could.
In fact the only thing really left of the one pair I cut up
are the waist, inner & outer seams, front pockets, back
pockets, and the "carpenter" pockets oh yeah and the
    belt loops.

Yes! I saw the neatest idea the other day where someone had taken back pockets from multiple pairs of jeans and sewed them together (like you would quilt squares). They used the waste bands as borders. I don't know what was done for the backing or if there was one. Hang the finished product. The pockets can be used to store things.

You can definitely use the pockets with a denim purse, the kind that teens might like. If you use them in side the purse, they can hold phones, calculators, lipstick, pens and pencils, credit cards.

Using the side seams for purse straps is a great idea. Never thought of that. Why can't I think of these things myself?
