I signed up with my email. I am new at this, hope I am doing it correctly. I may need a little help along the way to get started, not with the quilting but with the rules and deadlines.

As far as I can tell, the only deadline is to have your block finished and posted to her linky party (or emailed to her) the day before the next block is supposed to be revealed. That gets you the next block free. Personally, I would have it in a couple of days early. That's just me. If you miss the deadline you can buy her next block and get back on track.

You can do the block, or placemat or game.

Have you received your first block yet SewExtremeSeams?

No, I just checked and I haven't. She sends it to your email, right?

SES ... ... as per Works4Me the block patterns were emailed.
Mine arrived this past Monday 1/4/2016.

My BOM game blocks are going to be stand alones.
I'm planning to make them from stash.
Although, I do hope to coordinate them a little, by repeating some of the fabrics.
The black is a Shimmer with silver bling. The other two happened to be in my stash.

Do you think I could find some flat apples to use as the checkers?
    Anyone know where?

That is so bright and cheery QuiltE. I love it. Amazing how very different it is from mine.

Only places for laser cut wood shapes I can think of are dollar stores, Michaels, or WalMart in the craft section. Maybe even a thrift store might have some.

It was nice that this block went together quite quickly for me.

    Thank you W4Me!!
Bright indeed ... such a contrast to your classic "marble" checker board.

Me too ... it was surprisingly quick!
As oft is the case, I probably spent more time picking fabrics than sewing.

ahhh laser cut is what I want to look for!
    Thanks for the tip.
Will be on the hunt for them now.
Probably an added challenge to find them small enough.

Thanks, I apparently didn't do it correctly. I signed to her website. I just sent an email to her email for the checkerboard!

QuiltE, your checker board looks great. Laser cut apples would be perfect. You could paint some Delicious red or candied apple red and the others Granny Smith green.

Thanks SewES ... now we'll be looking forward to seeing what spin you put on your checkers.

Where are all those who said they were joining in?

Please show us your creations and remember to post to the designer's site too, so you are sure to get your February pattern.
