I finish every quilt I make, if it isn't for me or someone in particular I donate it.

I have unfinished quilts, tops that need to be quilted and quilts needing binding. I don't have any that are "broken." In the 3 categories, though, there are quite a few only because they have no specific recipients yet.

I agree.....fix it right away. When I make the mistake, I usually have to wad it up, throw it on the floor, maybe stomp on it a couple of times (don't do this if there are still pins in it, I learned the hard way) and leave the room. After calming down, I take a nice cleansing breath and force myself to go back in and finish it. Otherwise, it gets stashed somewhere and I only find it years later.

I know the pain. I am working on one I goofed up a few years ago. It was hard to get back to because I had a lot of ripping out--the whole sashing- but I did it. Idon't even like the colors now but determined to finish and donate to local nursing home.
lesson learned--fix problems when the arise.

same here... I have just started the Gypsy Wife quilt by Jen Kingwell and miscut a section yesterday which I will repair this morning so I can move on.

No pity parties(?) in my sewing cave.....that's the one place in my life where I want only "good" things to happen, so either fix or toss....immediately. But thinking about it, it's only been something like putting a part of block in wrong, or seams don't match...nothing like deconstructing sections........so far, anyway

I have many quilts that need to be started but no pity ones yet! I guess in that way I'm happy!

LOL- folks think I don't have enough of my own- so they give me theirs- telling me to finish them up and give to charity!

I try to get them done and find a home. I feel it is a service to the Lord.
who has blessed me with the gift of sewing and quilting.
