I use basting spray sparingly because of the expense and I live in an apt. I still have my almost 2 cans of Sullivan but I understand they redid the formula.

I hope not because I like it a lot better than 505 even though it smells awful, I just use it outside

I have a lung problems and can't use 505 anymore, too many fumes. Sulky's product doesn't seem to irritate my lungs but does not hold as well as 505. We work with what we can.

Does this look like the same or similar, for us here in the US? Although I have been using Elmer's washable school glue but always curious about new products.

I read on the can of 505 that it was not water soluable. Does it just stay on the fabric forever?

I switched to Sullivan's years ago and find I like it better. Watson, is your fabric cotton? I've found that basting sprays do not "stick" well at all on polyesters. At least none that I've used.

Kitsie....no, the batting was polyester, as it was a just something I was playing around with. Hmmm....maybe I'll try it on a piece of cotton and see if it works better.

I also prefer Mettler TA101 Web Bond. I think it has the least amount of smell. After I learned about the Web Bond, I quit using the 505.
