Nothing like a fresh mango margarita!

I buy one couple times a month but still have to go to YouTube to review how to cut a mango and pomegranate. I love to put them in salads with greens and grilled chicken.

Walmart grocery stores and others like Hyvee in my area have mangos already sliced and in containers to buy in their produce coolers. And, yes, keep some floss handy.

I love mangos. I just slice in half as close to the seed as possible. Score it into cubes and scoop it out. Same way I do avocados. Then I chew off of the seed. If I and babysitting my SIL dog he chews the fruit off of the seed after I do.

If you use mangoes in desserts, add a little lemon juice, it brings out the mango flavor. I use them and papayas often as they're my hub's favorite fruits, he especially likes a fruit salad of mango, papaya and strawberry slices, very refreshing in the summer (and goes great over a scoop of vanilla ice cream, too).

I love, love, love fresh mango--especially after someone else has peeled and sliced them! I will splurge and get the fresh-in-a-pack in the produce section when I'm craving mangoes. I'll do the work, too, because I love the sweetness , but my favorite way is pre-cut.

I first encountered mangoes when I went to my hubby's home in Hawaii. His mother had a tree, and I had fresh mango every day I was there. Heavenly - way, way better than those things you can buy in the store from Mexico.

Mangos may be good, and we don't see many of them in Wisconsin, but my 19 year old granddaughter found she is highly allergic to them. She can't even touch other fruit that has been in the same box with them.

I just noticed the different spelling of mangos and mangoes. My computer wants the "e" in it. But I looked it up in the dictionary. Both are correct.

I wish I could eat mangoes. They small so good when they are ripe. I am allergic to them, my lips swell, my tongue and throat start to go numb.
