Nice block. Be sure to show us the rest of the blocks as you do them. This will be a lovely quilt. BrendaK

    Very pretty block!

I'm enjoying the Farmer's Wife 1930's blocks... learned paper piecing so I could make them. They are pretty similar, (65 pieces is not uncommon!), and my blocks have been coming out at about 6.25" square. It's a real feeling of accomplishment to finish one.

Many of the blocks are hand pieced or applique....so they travel well, like to the dr office waiting room and such. its a fun quilt if you are not in a hurry to "get er done", but enjoy the process. Like you say, it will be a filler quilt to work on amongst the others you do. If it is the only quilt you do, it will seem painfully laboreous, with slow results. I loved making mine, did not mean to discourage you as I babbled on.....

Thank you! Yes, it's a testament to our hard work and dedication. The Farmer's Wife is on my bucket list. :-)

Thank you, Jane. You didn't discourage me at all. Do you have a photo of your Dear Jane. I would love to see it.

Very nice! I was on a Dear Jane kick some years ago - you will find it really stretches your skills and it's really fun!

Very pretty. I started mine in 2008 and am still working on it. I made 64 blocks and 26 triangles, plus the 'kites' and am now putting it together....not going to go for the gold and do the whole thing!!
