Depends on the clear daylight available (fall/winter) some days it is afternoons and a few times in the morning.

I like to sew any time, but if I don't do my housework chores in the morning before sewing, they won't get done all day.

Ditto here and I have to be in the mood. Need my bed made, dishes done and laundry going.

When I get home in the evening - especially now that it's dark before 6 PM - I don't feel like doing anything! That leaves Saturday or Sunday, plus the odd day off. Our guild has a sewing day on Saturday every month or two, and although it's a pain to pack everything up to go, I do get a lot done there as there are no distractions (dishes, laundry, vacuuming) that I feel like I need to attend to.

Hoping to retire next year, so will definitely have more time, if I can get myself motivated!

I worked the midnight shift for many years and though I'm retired now these past 8 years I still like to stay up late to sew. Otherwise, I'll sew once I have my chores done in the kitchen and then come down here to read my emails and then I'm off to sewing. At times I'll get things ready the night before so all I have to do is turn on the machine and go.

The best time for piecing/sewing for me is afternoon. If it gets to late in the evening I find myself making more mistakes & having to rip out.

In my 30' & 40's I would work on my quilting from 9pm until 3am but it has changed as I've gotten older. I now spend afternoons in the quilt cave working on my projects. In the evening after dinner I sit with DH while he watches tv and I do hand work of binding quilts or embroidery. Never been a morning person so it takes me forever to get DH fed, off to work, feed the animals, do house chores and check with you guys before going off to quilt!

That thought never crossed my mind. I quit my career paying job as soon as my last child was out of college. I haven't missed an hour of it. I discovered I'm lazy and never knew it. LOL

I thought that when I retired I would have more time to sew.. Well, now I am retired, 3yrs now, and I find that evenings is the best time because there is less distractions. I would like to sew more and would like to sew in the mornings but in the Summer i need to clean the pool, water my flowerbeds and lawn or mow the lawn. I also have to weed the flowerbeds.. as you see i am the yard keeper, DH has heart problems.

I do some longarm quilting for others, so that motivates me to "get'er done" so I make time. Sometimes I can't sleep and instead of tossing and turning I get up and sew, it is very peaceful at 2am.

I like to sew in the mornings as soon as my house is straightened up and I get the 3 granddaughters (who live with me) off to school on the bus. Evenings are no good for me as it gets a little crazy around here with homework and such.
