No I did not have a pattern, we talked and I asked her what she needed in a bag, how big she wanted it, number of things she needed to have in zippered pockets, velcroed pockets, net pockets (razor, electrical extension cord, curling iron, blow dryer and dryer brush, and items she needed to just pick up from the bag, pens, paper and things like hair clips, scissors, combs, etc. The reason for putting on a zippered purse 12 x 12 velcroed on the outside of the bag, for her money and other items we ladies like to have on us.
Also wanted a pocket to hold her spritzer bottle full of water, a place to hold her keys and wallet, kleenex, etc.

I printed up the Word "HAIR" so she would recognize and identify her bag, if the need arose, and her favourite color was red.
