I think it looks fine. I lean toward less quilting rather than more-too much seems to make a stiffer quilt IMO. As long as you are within the guidelines for your batting I think you're good. Very cute!

This quilt is oh so cute. But I do think you need some horizontal quilting lines. Batting reccomendation of 10" means 10" in all directions and it looks like you have unquilted space from the top to the bottom that exceeds that. In addition to the possibility of the batting migrating with long expanses of unquilted areas (in this case from top to bottom) it can also lead to some unsightly wrinkling of the fabric after washing. And undo stress on the quilt. I think you can follow your seam line and just stitch straight across and it will still look very cute as well as reinforcing the quilt. Should only take you an hour or so if even that.

Thanks for this. You may be right. Do you mean quilt in the ditch on the seams?

I agree with the poster who mentioned the batting requirements. If you've met that in the body of the quilt, I'd not worry beyond that. Not knowing the width of your border - hard to say with respect to your batting requirements. If you're not looking for anything intricate, I'd just go for some straight lines in the border - if it's even needed predicated on the batting/quilting requirements.

    JMHO.

I like the piano keys for the border, or you could do an easy diamond design.

Wonderful baby quilt. I really like the quilting you have done on the blocks. I also like your avatar a lot.

Thankyou. The avatar is a Hidden Wells quilt. Google will take you to tutorials. It was interesting to make - needs total accuracy, but otherwise isn't difficult.
