    They may be dull to some people, but I like some of the more subtle and unusual pallettes. I don't believe that the only pretty color combinations are bright and loud. I often think a bit of subtly and sophistication is much prettier.

    I believe they are currently referred to as "Low Volume" quilts.

    I was thinking if the whole quilt is "loud" - then there would be no point in adding any "pop" to it.

    Perhaps with an unexpected color or and explosive color or additional or with a touch of whatever color. I have never cared for the word pop either. I think one should just say black and white with a touch of red or whatever color for example.
