No, thanks, Leon. Keep your eyes open for some T&S's for the kids, though. I'm attempting to limit my sewing machines. The hand crank looks pretty good. However, at some point, they needed a key and didn't have one. So the case is somewhat boogered.

When checking out T&S's, be sure the shuttle moves. (I've only made that mistake once.) I also need cases for some of them.

On your subject, wouldn't you like to, at least, rescue some of those parts? Seems like many old machines are missing the needle plate and it looks like there are several there. .

Pretty wasteful. Wonder if they at least removed the shuttles. The salvaged sewing machine is a 3/4 sized Model N Davis that uses the Davis Long needles or Boye 10.

Some had shuttles removed, some were rusted in place. It was very sad. I am tempted to offer $5.00 each and drag them home for parts. But then the whole space thing comes into play.

Thanks Jon. I thought it looked like a Franklin.

I have all the parts except for the stich regulator and the shuttle working now. It spins freely.. Yay.

I have a few needles kicking around..

I just want to say thank you for seeing the potential in these forgotten treasures, loving them, and giving them new life.

I remember shopping the Salvation Army in Portland as a girl about (11) and asking if they had any treadle machines. The man took me back to the warehouse and showed me treadles stacked 5 or 6 high and as far as I could see the building was full of them! I often wonder what they did with all of them that was like 50 some years ago.

I only saved one. But the 99 is whispering to me. This one too, but I don't recall the name.

But hey, the light bulb looks good.

I would probably have gotten them, too. I'm guessing it is a National Rotary and couldn't find anything other than drawings except for the RA2 and that is not very good to compare to your picture at http://needlebar.org/nbwiki/index.ph...otary_Machines and http://needlebar.org/cm/thumbnails.php?album=260&page=6

I can't give away machines, so this fall I'm going to strip parts and the rest is going to the scrap yard. So you'll never see something like this at my house!
