I'll go with this being an interesting looking quilt, but easy???? Someone needs to re-examine that designation. Or maybe I'm missing something.

By weaving you can skip over strips to make the squares smaller or make them rectangles. I think that would be easier the sewing the strips and would be a beginner level method. I made a small round one by weaving using stencils to mark the weave.

I wonder if the inner square is a preprinted panel? That's the only way I can see it being easy.

It's hard to believe that even I could make this LOL
A number of the gals, 6 that I know of, from my guild have made this and it is NOT easy. Oh they finished but two of them took two retreats and time at home to make it. It is precise and just one little miss cut or miss placement of a row is a disaster. It all began when the designer of the quilt came to a near by town for a one day demonstration and work day using this pattern. Hands down every one who went said having her there to explain the directions was very beneficial. (Most felt that parts of the directions were not clear and these are EXPERT quilters.) All finished their quilt but it took a long time. The skills to put the pieces together is easy, just straight stitching, but not the cutting and following the directions to a "T". That is hard!

I am in the "not my cup-of-tea" category for this quilt. I do have to say that those who did this quilt feel a great sense of accomplishment for taking on this unusual quilt.

Willferg, No the whole thing is pieced. Lots of little pieces cut precisely and piece precisely.

I think it is a neat quilt, but I would be seasick trying to piece it or look at it on the wall after finishing it.

I am actually working on this right now. I have the center part finished. It is not a bargello, although there are lots of strips that you Must keep labeled and together or you will be in trouble - and follow the directions Very carefully. Hopefully mine will turn out all right and I will share a pic when I'm done. Not too sure how it will turn out though because I am using very bright colors and they will not meld into the other colors, but we shall see. I am going to call it Rainbow of Confusion.

I agree zozee. I think this is "Easy = 134 hours of sewing and 16 swear words"
