I am not a gray person at all, but I did use some silver gray from Connecting Threads with black for my nephews quilt. It turned out great. If I use gray, I first test it with the other fabrics to see if it works. Gray is strange to me, it has brown gray, silver gray, blue gray .....

Love gray so pretty, I guess the shade depends on the design. I have light medium and absolutely my favorite is steel gray.

I really like the silver gray from Connecting Threads. It is a very neutral gray without shading toward blue-gray or green-gray, so it seems to go with all my other fabrics.

Black, white and gray was certainly popular at the quilt auction held this past weekend. 4 tops....just tops... made in various patterns in black, white and gray sold for $180-$220 each. Where a completed quilt, nothing wrong and pleasing colors brought $350.00. Top quilts and there were 4 of them from the Canadian people were $1000.00, 800.00 and two at 700.00. All in all I came away quite depressed. I love making these, but selling them there is impossible.

I absolutely love Michael Miller Couture solids, particularly silver. Fabric has a marvelous hand.

Thanks to everyone for their input! I have ordered some MM Couture in silver, Kona in silver (I think) and the Bella in Zen. I'll compare to Art Gallery Mystic Grey and see which I like best. Thanks again!

I have only used gray once. The gray I chose had a linen weave look and went with all colors. Some grays have a greenish or bluish tint.
