When you say dull do you mean as in lack of brightness? You surely can't mean boring because it is not. How about using the darkest purple from your L C blocks to bind and also quilt it with a pinky/lavender thread to coordinate with the lightest pinky/lavender log? It doesn't seem to need another border to me but then what do I know?

I like it as is, and as some others have mentioned, quilting in butterflies would be an excellent way to get them in without taking focus away from the dogs, cats and fish. A dark binding would then frame it nicely.

Add the butterflies through the quilting. And dragonflies and maybe water lilies but all as quilting motifs.

    Purr-fectly Cute!

Did you decide about a border? Can we see what a thin strip of the dark purple looks like next to the quilt. Perhaps a 1 1/2 inch or even 2 inch dark border would set it off and frame it.

Ok, I will take a differing view. No to butterflies, they do not fit with fish, cats and dogs. Maybe dragonflies as they are often found near fish ponds. Birds would also fit.

I love it as it is.
