    I would leave it the way it is - especially as it is the centre block and many people would opt to make this a bit different to add more contrast etc

    I hope that I am not a 'spoiler'; but, I like the original God's eye block because it carries the tradition of the God's
    Eye art form from New Mexico and beyond. The other blocks are beautiful but they are different and do not convey the native concept. I am sure that I would just make new blocks to surround the correct block and use the other, already made blocks, for something else.

    As I was reading your post, I was concerned that you were going to say that they did not fit. This would be more serious than the middle of the block looking different. ( I am having some size trouble right now)

    I would say leave them alone. You could always make another some day.

    I like the variation of having both ways in the quilt and actually prefer the way you altered it.

    You could make more blocks in the original pattern in the smaller sizes and mix and mingle them throughout the quilt!
