Thanks for sharing the great quilts honoring our veterans. My dh served in the AF, AP unit in Alaska. I drove up with my DGM riding in the passenger seat of the car, and we sent her back to Iowa by jet. She laughed and told family and friends that she joined the "jet" set at 72 years young. Memorial days that I grew up with was a family holiday, decorating graves, having family meals together and talking about the members who were deceased. Veterans Day was the day we honored military members and veterans. We all learned the poem, On Flanders Field.
May it be a safe holiday for all. I promised my DGM flowers while she lived, and heed her wishes of no plastic flowers on her grave site. That generation is gone, I miss the family meals, but have fond memories of them.
