My Bernina is named Bernini after the master sculpture Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

What did you name yours and what was the inspiration behind the name?

My white Featherweight is named Tally because she came from Tallahassee, FL.
I had a long, reply and kept getting a message that it was too short, guess I paused too long when replying and the message got broken up. What it all boils down to is that I do not like cutesy. All my machines came to me with names and they told me they wanted to keep them.

Why would a machine need a name... besides the brand name they come with?

Really, the only one (hey when did I accumulate 3 machines?!) that touches my heart enough to make me want to name her is my sweet Singer 301. It's the very model my grandmother taught my sister and I to sew on (being so simple and straight forward!), and so her name is my grandmother's - Boszi, a Hungarian 'short' name for Elizabeth...pronounced Berzhee minus the R. You might have to hear it first, lol.

Because I have four Singers, if I asked my husband to bring me something next to the "Singer", he would be walking in circles for an hour! But if I tell him it is next to "Gunther" , he knows exactly which one I mean!

Don't be party poopers. LOL Having names for items that share a lot of our time adds a bit of sparkle.

When I bought my mid-arm, I named it Shirley, after my mom, who taught me how to sew. The frame is Laverne. When I upgraded to a longarm, I renamed it Laverne & Shirley-turbocharged! My cousin even made me a vinyl decal to put on her
