    Looking forward to checking some of these suggestions out! I dread a heavily fraying fabric personally.

    Since I donate most of my quilts or give them away. I just buy whatever fabric solids or prints according to colors.

    I really don't know how they will be washed or taken care of. I don't see spending lots of money for fabrics.

    Northcutt Colorworks is my choice, too. The color saturation is amazing. The black is so black!

    I love Michael Miller, Marcus and Moda. I still use Kona Snow though it does ravel...not so much if I wash it first or even starch it.

    I buy based on the colour I need and mix and match brands to get the palette I want. Although not mentioned here I have also used Connecting Threads Basics.

    I too like grunge and fabrics that read as solid, but have some texture.
