as to the non-AF/DF quarter-inch feet, look online for the O2 foot.
you can barely see the physical difference between the O and the O2, but they don't perform equally.
the O2 handles bulky seams much more easily than does the O.

the O2 also has the guide and can be found online for under $15US.
For me it's more that I don't have a dealership I necessarily trust. I probably wouldn't go beyond the 6700 under any circumstance, since my hobby doesn't warrant the expense, LOL. But if Costco sold the 6700, it would be a no-brainer.

I might try the O2 foot. I really liked my clear foot on the Pfaff, but maybe I just won't be able to find a clear foot solution on the Janome.

Maybe the bottom line is to accept my Janome with its flaws or go back to my Pfaff.

I noticed there's a little gap in the front (if that's what you mean) but
I can still piece accurately. I do starch my fabric heavily so maybe this helps.
Or it just correct itself when the fabric goes through.

Teresa - one small correction. I have the 7700 not the 6700, but that doesn't make any difference to my comment. I bought the Pfaff Ambition Essential. Have had no problems with my quarter inch seam since I started using it.

Ok. I took a close look at the clear foot. There's no gap but it looks bent.
So it's probably just like yours...but it works fine for piecing.
Make sure the screws are tight.

I need to take some video of mine. It rocks like a piecing foot should, but it also moves left to right (laterally) . It sort of does the twist, LOL. I am getting an accurate seam now, but I have to fuss with it. On my Pfaff foot, no fuss, no muss ;-).

Gotcha. Yeah, my Pfaff is awesome for that. It's just sluggish after using the 6650. Maybe if I keep them close enough together they'll have a baby and I'll get my perfect machine, LOL....too much coffee, not enough lunch.

I guess each machine is different. Just have to get in the groove.

Isn't the 7550 a 6mm machine, vs. the 6650 being a 9 mm one? How does the fabric ride relative to the feed dogs on each? Is it fully on both sides of the 6650? I'm wondering if that could be part of the difference as well.

The Pfaff 7550 is a 9mm machine. It was kewl before it's time, for certain.

The Pfaff has IDT and a better quarter inch foot. That's the difference. The problem with the Pfaff is that the Janome has some modern conveniences that the 20 year old Pfaff lacks. So, I want a hybrid ;-), I guess.

It's not a good design at all. Very finicky, not just a difference, but a flaw, IMHO. I don't know if my foot or even my foot holder is just defective. I put the zigzag foot on and it wobbles too. Hmmm. I may want to see if I can try another machine. The wobble is really bad, and I would think if it was common, I'd hear complaints. I searched Amazon reviews on the feet and only one other person talked about the wobble. Hmmm.
