Thank you for the link. I’m surprised this is allowed, I thought we couldn’t share things that are on sites we have to sign in to to get. In order to check out the free pattern we are required to make an account. I’m not complaining, just isn’t something I’m willing to do.

I printed out the first step and have been contemplating my fabric choices. I think I *could* make it an exercise in value and go full scrappy—there are so many fabrics specified!

I’m happy to share here if anyone else is doing it, but if the thread goes away, that’s fine, too—I wish good luck to anyone doing it, and I thank you for pointing it out!

Oh, it looks like they've got a Valentine's Day wall-hanging size one as well, for those who can't do one right now/can't commit to the full quilt size.

That's an awful lot of fabric they're calling for. I think I'm going to wait for the first warm ups to come out tomorrow to get a better idea of what I'd be in for. I wish there was a centralized list of all these free/one day mystery quilts... I quite like them.

Yikes! 192 and 384 1 1/2” squares!! And I was relieved when the initial instructions didn’t include any triangles or 7/8” measurements....but I dunno, this one might be beyond me. I’m still saving the instructions and might have to tackle them at some point, because it sounds like it’s going to be a pretty intricate piece.

Looking at today's instructions and wondering if there's any reason not to make the two flying geese sewn back to back as quarter square triangles instead. It would eliminate so much cutting and sewing, as well as a lumpy seam in the middle. Any thoughts?

Armybandvet, if you need a top for LA practice, let me know, I'd be glad to send you one! :-) Thanks for posting this mystery. I haven't been to that web site before and I doubt I'd have seen it. I like the way the instructions are written. The cutting list was so easy to understand.

LyndaOH, I agree, it seems so much easier to make QSTs than to have the extra seam from sewing the two FG together. Maybe she wants the seam to be there in order to nest to a seam in the unit that will be sewn next to it?
