    Mary Ka - Minkee is the brand name for a type of fabric that is of kind similar to polar fleece; it's polyester, is very soft and fuzzy to the touch and has a softer drape than fleece. It's not at all like the fake fur stuff, which is somewhat scratchy.

    Both times that I used minky for backing, I did not use batting because the minky was soooo heavy. They were t shirt quilts. Did not prewash, and I quilted them on my domestic machine. I liked folding the minky to the front for the binding. I stitched that with a zig zag stitch.
