I can totally understand you wanting to use/or get rid of certain scraps. You made a lovely quilt and are now "done" with looking at them. I applaud you, because like you I get tired of looking at them languish. I usually take the scraps I no longer want to a place that takes all kinds of used art supplies and books. I'm using my large bin of flannel scraps to make the tops for self binding receiving blankets before I back them with a single piece of flannel. I have enough to make at least 20, but it also necessitated me buying more flannel for the backings LOL At least the bin will be empty and I will use the extra backing fabric to make more blankets and be done with the whole lot. I, too, am tired of looking at them take up space.

Must ask, did you make the light inner border with pieces as you went along to get the length or did you figure it all out beforehand?

Quiltwoman, I knew approximately how long I needed the braid to be. So I just made one long braid and cut off the length I needed. I ended up with just a bit extra

I think your scrap quilt is great. I saved a copy of the photo in my "quilts to make" folder. I have a ton of 2.5" and 2" scrap strips that I cut every time I make a quilt and have some fabric leftover. Another way to use them!!
