    Good sleuthing, Polkweed!

It is probably good to mention that many places (particularly on line) only cut in 1/4 yard increments. Your local shop may have more flexibility in terms of 1/3 yard cuts (12") or using 8ths (4.5 inches). When in doubt, round up!

I wonder if it's one of those patterns that have multiple sizes listed within.

If using fabrics/prints that have large repeats or require fussy cutting, allow for more yardage.

Some prints do not work well if cut "just anywhere".

I’m not sure how much fabric to buy. Since the # of blocks is almost half of the original should I cut the fabric requirements in half and had a bit? For instance if it calls for 2 yards, buy 1 1/8 or maybe 1 1/4? (Gets a little trickier when it calls for odd amounts like 1 2/3.)

And I know it will get even trickier when it comes to actual cutting and figuring out how many squares to cut and hsq’s to make. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
