I wash mine by hand in the kitchen sink to test for bleeding. For drying roll them up in a towel the squeeze. Then I either dry them in a lingerie bag in the dryer or hang them outside to dry. I starch them heavily before ironing. They look like new.

I rinse the fabric in warm water, one at a time if I think they might bleed. If it is a bleeder that I have to have, I rinse until the water is clear. I then roll in a towel to get moat of the moisture out, throw them in the dryer on medium heat for shrinkage. Then I take them out starch and iron them.

I wash mine in the washer with woollite and use a color catcher. Use a lingerie bag for FQ.

Just make sure you wash your tub out well, the dry starch residue will become very slippery when water mixes with it again.

Thank you, never thought of it. Hadn't had compaints because tub seldom used. But now I will put a note on my "Getting Ready for Company" list.

My fat qtrs (or any small pc of fabric)go into a lingerare bag and my larger pieces I throw in the washer on hot water with a color catcher. My fabric always comes out nice and I have never starched anything. Sorry gals, I am a snob, but only buy quilt shop quality fabric.

Me three!!! But I wash them on delicate setting, full tub of water to avoid tangling as much as possible. I dry them to almost dry, then iron.

I'm a quality snob too, but I still starch them.

runa a short basting stitch around the edges. i don't wash too much, but when i do, i always run a straight stitch on the cut ends, sure helps alot.
