Once you have the name and possibly home town then you could perhaps do an online search. I think the problem for lots of Americans with Irish ancestry is that so many Irish left here during the famine times (from 1830's onwards), and I think that a lot of them changed their names when they arrived in the US. Plus, at that time, the only records of them would be in the parishes they lived in, and I don't think they are complete these days. I wish you well with your search though.

You have a great guild in Pensacola. In fact they just had their bi-annual show. Definitely get in touch with them. I think it's just called Pensacola Quilt Guild. And another great thing about joining a guild is that many fabric stores give you a discount. And you have a great fabric store there on New Warrington Road, A&E Pharmacy. I know, it sounds like a drug store and it is but is also is a great fabric store...check it out!!!
