I have a CE-100 and have had NO problems with it. I sew as well as embroider on it. I also have a Singer that was made in 1957.. what wonderful machines ($20.00 including all the feet & cabinet at an auction). I absolutely LOVE Singer.
My opinion only... I would never buy a Brother. I know several of you here have them... BUT that brand is definately not for me.
    To each her own.

Have you tried writting to Singer's head quarters. Sometime they don't know whats going on with the local shops and the problem's were having unless you tell them. Tell them everytime you have taken the machine in to be repaired. And whats happened when you got it back.. I hope this will help you.

It is possible to learn how to fix the timing yourself; however, I don't know how to do it. There may be a Yahoo group that can help you, although most of the ones that talk about repair are talking about vintage machines. Someone on one of those lists might take pity on you, even though your machine is newer, and direct you to some instruction in how to fix the timing.

Here are some groups that you might want to check into:

Got one 3 yrs ago.I have had a few minor problems with it but,I was able to fix them myself.Try taking it to another repair shop.I take mine to my quilt shop (they repair all machines).Try blowing it out.Remove the screws from the bottom and blow or use your vac the suck all the scrp out of it.You might be surprised!.
