Good for you, just make sure you find plenty of sources of protein, its a must in over all health. I'm not a vegie only person but I eat very little meat. I too have noticed when I do eat meat I spend aot of time in the smallest room in the house.

I didn't bring anything to eat at work so after shopping at lunch (got two tops and a pair of pants) I stopped and got some veggi chow mein and 2 veggie spring rolls. Just about exactly an hour later my innards were roiling and I had to go to the smallest room at work! Maybe it's the fat and not the meat? I know those things probably have a lot of grams of fat.

I don't know what to trust eating out anymore. I don't seem to have any problems when I eat what I absolutely know is only vegetables.

It could have been the oil not being the freshest. It could have been the amount of oil. It could have been the cook not washing his hands well enough. Give both of those menu items another chance- separately - and see if that narrows it down for you. Or try having the same dishes at another restaurant that touts their use of fresh ingredients. Or make the chow mein at home, so you know exactly what's going in it.

Veggie burgers are not bad and I'm a carnivore, so that's saying something.

As for the other distress - it could also be how the food was seasoned. My BFF has to be extremely careful when she eats out for the same issues you describe.
