This was also exciting to me. First, congrats on the winning. That is wonderful. and Earlier in the year I asked if anyone knew why they had those squares on the barns up in Ky, not knowing we have them here in NC as well. Aren't they wonderful. Great for you to share. Lets America know, We are still out here, because of those who made those squares enriching our families with this craft.

congrats! I had a great armchair tour thanks to your site - wish I could travel South & see these barns up close & personal. Hmm... a good reason to head South when the snow flies.

Welcome Suzi - loved visiting your blog!
I teach too. I caught President Obama saying "Me and Michelle" in his speech in India on the news before school and used that as a teachable moment with my students. Sure has helped them remember to say it the right way.
