I do know what you are going through. I made it through Thanksgiving also. The first without my mother and my husband. It wasn't as bad as I expected, maybe because I had family and my sister stayed with me a week. Christmas will be hard, but we will get through.

I get over one part of the grieving process and a few weeks later that same part hits again for the other lost loved one. Sometimes it gets almost unbearable. But, it does seem to be getting better.

I hope you and Adrian have a nice Christmas. I know it will be much harder for you than me. I believe you will be okay. I know you miss your wife and all the dreams you shared and hopes of the future. And that is okay, it is exactly what happens in the grief process. And it just takes time. Someday, my young friend, you and I will be able to think of our lost spouses and not feel this awful pain. Till then we will just live one day at a time.

Merry Christmas to you and your son. And to all those others who have lost loved ones this year.

Your friend in North Central Texas
