Marmar, thanks for the welcome, you will see another post of mine describing where I live, our climate is very hot in summer but with cool winters (no snow, just cold and with luck wet, we are suffering bad droughts)...Bette

Hi Ruthie, I am holidaying with my daughter in Perth (West Australia) at the moment, fly home (4 hrs flight) next Friday. It was very timely ços in the middle of it all she spent 2 nights in hospital - OK now until the next time, finished one quilt and done the top for another and keep handsewing appliques on blocks while watching TV at night. Sooo looking forward to seeing my darling husband the my two gorgeous terriers, Flo and Chips, then off camping for Easter. As we used to say in Oz in my youth (badly outdated now) - WHACKO!!! :D  8) :P bETTE

Thanks Boo, forgot to tell Marmar that yes, we have lots of quilting magazines in Oz, simply delicious, and also quite a few from USA, also yummy.

I rarely follow a pattern but do get inspirations from the mags, and it is quite common for me to wake in the morning and I have dreamt another quilt I want to make, but time is short (I do the admin for my husbands factory) so I have to put them on paper and file them to wait for the right time. I'm not that odd I'm sure, do others do this too?

I do quilts for friends and sometimes it takes a few weeks of cogitating to design a quilt I feel matches the friend's personality.

I also dye my own fabrics often - great fun and some unexpected results

Hi Celeste, will be a little while before I can post quilt photos, I'm off home on Friday next, 4 hrs flight, not incl. 3/4 hr stopover in Adelaide, then 4 hour drive home and collapse, one months administration and monthly tax return to do, then prepare for Easter camping early start on next Wednesday.

When That is done I'll be in the factory office scanning quilt photos, don't have a digital camera and had my pc upgraded just before Xmas - Lord knows how long it will take me to suss my way around that as I haven't spent much time in the office for months, mostly work on my laptop at home. BUT, a good project for me as I'm a lazy type who procrastinates until the pressure to achieve something is almost at eruption point. Bette

Hi, Bette! I live in northern California, nice summers and very cold winters, lots of snow. I also love to camp, my husband drags his feet some now. I always have a project in my purse, just in case I have time. There are a lot of quilt projects that one can carry in a ziploc sandwich bag.
