Hi Mosaicthinking, I am having fun searching out all the info that everyone has shared with me to date, I realise there is a thriving quilt community there in Tassie which is wonderful, we are certainly doing our homework with regard a move back to Australia, DH does not retire for another 22 months so we have time to contemplate. At first glance it seems we would have to fly from Melbourne to get there anyway, if all this comes about I shall be there with bells on, thank you for your wonderful suggestion.
I am enjoying reading all about it, I need not have worried!

Hi Gal - I'm no help as far as Tassie goes but I wish you all the best for your move when it comes.

Thanks Deecee, we are considering all options, have not made up our minds as yet, great to know that a thriving quilting community awaits should we decide to retire there.

I have a pen pal from Tasmania, Australia. I've had her as a pen pal since I was in the eigth grade, many years ago.

JJC, isn't it a small world really, I had a pen friend in South Carolina from when I was 12 years old, we wrote all through the years until I was about 40 then all of a sudden no more letters, don't know what happened, I wrote to her address several times, but no reply. Isn't life strange sometimes!

Gal, good luck with your move and I hope you find some LQS in the new area. Have never been to Australia and not sure if I ever will. Don't travel much, although I have moved several times in and around the same area. Go figure! Take care.
