    Ohhhh, that's beautiful. If you look at the top of the page of the blog, you'll see the cross made from flowers that survived the fire (more pics in the blog itself), even though it was literally feet from the building. I DO like the thought of incorporating flowers into the quilt somehow.

    You could always do the cross in white and start with the darks around the cross and then go lighter to the outside, opposite of what I have done.
    Amazing how the cross looks untouched from the fire.

    I think that's a good idea. When you made it did you just have to fussy cute each square out and put it together that way?
