One of my favorite shops that has over 10,000 bolts of high quality cotton fabric is Quilter's Station in Lee's Summitt, Missouri. I can spend HOURS in that store! I love batiks and they have a very large selection of batiks. One thing I love is the arrangement of their store. It's so easy to find what you are looking for with the way the store is arranged. The walls are covered with samples and everytime I've asked for the fabric for a quilt on display, they have kits to match if you prefer a kit! Fantastic store and a discount area in the back room. They also sell wool and supplies in one small section of the store for penny quilts and primitive stitching. And, if you love small gift items, they are displayed tastefully around the store at reasonable prices! Can you tell I LOVE this store? Here is the web address...but seriously if you are ever traveling east of Kansas City on I70 just pop south on I470....it will be well worth the detour!

Okay....I can't stop at one! Another fantastic shop is Homestead Hearth in Mexico, Missouri. It's just north of I70 less than an hour west of St. Louis. It's in a small town just off the town square. I get lost in that store...there are patterns and fabric everywhere (displayed nicely - not messy) but there is just soooo much to look at...it's amazing. I've purchased the fabric there for two of my quilts and countless other projects. I'm not sure how many bolts....but I dare say it's thousands. And...they probably beat any store when it comes to patterns. It's amazing. They specialize also in historical and civil war prints but they carry all types of cotton quilting fabric...high quality....not cheap quality. I love this store! Here is their website!

Where is it? I'm going to be in Houston next week and I have looked for quilt shops before with no luck.

LOL, I don't even want to know. I can get into enough trouble at JoAnn's and Goodwill.

You've got a problem, Dear. Why do you even ask?
What he doesn't know won't hurt you!

Road Trip! I have 10 empty suitcases ready to go![/quote]

Pessimist! Wouldn't about a hundred packing boxes, packing tape and mailing labels give you more room?

    LOL
