I'm not much of a yellow person either as it does command your attention.

HOWEVER, in this quilt it does a wonderful job of framing and individualizing each of the blocks and keeps them from "fighting" with each other.

An outer border of red would provide a nice balance. Red would encourage the eye to move around the quilt and highlight the hues in your individual strips.

My time

I wouldn't take it out. It not that great, but it's not that bad either. I'd make a scrappy border or a border of some sort and it will neutralize the yellow. What a great scrappy quilt.
