Good time to post my blocks that I have finished: Shoo Fly is "weather the storms together" as a couple. Swamp Angel is just representing a swamp bayou where many have hidden and some have flourished.

Default Karen G needle turn on posey block

I used a modified freezer paper and needle turn on mine. I cut out the shape in freezer paper, with shiny side toward backside of fabric. Then iron on and cut including seam allowance. I press the seam allowance around the edges. Often just fingerpress. Then I remove the freezer paper and appliqué. My seam allowance is already folded and easy to turn under with the needle. No starch, mess or drying time.

I've discovered that freezer paper shrinks so something to consider if the pattern is intricite. I press it on a tea towel shiny side down before applying to fabric. Still plenty of wax left for several uses
