Ok so i've started a new thread over on the 'Pictures' forum, for us to showcase our final results .

I've never posted a link before so hopefully this will work. If not I'm sure you'll find it easily anyway...

I'm looking forward to seeing them all together

Cheers, K

PS. tested the link and it seems to work. Yay...

The pattern is basically a modified tumbling blocks.

Last year I did the Craftsy BOTM, and one month the block was 'simple' tumbling blocks. Since I had previously made a quilt with this pattern, I decided to challenge myself a bit more by making see-through or 'glass' tumbling blocks instead.

I had some time before seen a tutorial somewhere online on making these and had taken screen-shots of the templates for reference. I'm sorry I can't recall where I saw it, so can't credit the author, but it was probably you-tube.

I did find after a couple of months of the BOTM I was modifying most of the monthly blocks . For instance one month was to be an appliqué basket, which I didn't really like, but I did want to practice the technique for making the handles, so I made several handles and wove the into an appliqué celtic knot! So my final product bears little resemblance to the Craftsy published quilt .

Cheers, K
Siodach, I should have modified the blocks also. I signed up for that BOTM and found the course was flat, some nice tips, but I did not like doing the larger blocks. After seeing yours I might go back and take another look at the course. I only got one or two months actually finished.

If only I could....Thanks Sulabug for the laugh. I have a four day weekend for Thanksgiving and the Mystery Quilt is one of the top items on my list to complete.

I have been reading about your quilt-a-long and love the completed projects. I haven't been here long, but I would love to join the group which begins in January. I plan to do Bonnie Hunter's mystery this month and I don't think it will be a problem to keep up with both.. May I join you in January????

Please do! It is a lot of fun and a low-pressure way to enjoy a mystery. Plus, I'm sure you have seen how differently each turns out--all from the same directions. Lovely quilts and lovely people!

Of course you can -- the more the merrier. But don't wait until January -- jump on over to our Grand Illusion thread and join us there as well. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...a-t255071.html

Ooooo Bewlfry - great avatar -- where did you find the pattern?

Question for all you Bonnie hunter followers -- l've never done one of her mysteries, and found the first posting with the fabrics. Is this same place where clues will be posted?

P.S. Just to tease you -- finished all the clues and pictures for mystery #8. Do you know where your scraps are?
