    you know, any thread that starts with: this is ugly...gets a lot of attention.

    Looks good to me. The majority of the strips seem to be in the medium to dark range, so a sashing of a lighter color to "Stop" that strip action and let the eyes rest seems very logical to me. Maybe a narrower outside border in a medium to dark to tie it all together. But I like what you have there.

    I disagree - it's a beautiful scrap quilt and I like the yellow, even though it's not one of my favorite colors either - the yellow makes the blocks pop. Nice job.

    If you don't use edge to edge the quilting in the sashing and border could really change the look of the yellow. Just the addition of extra texture in the borders and a color that is just slightly different but complimentary to the scrappy ones will make a big difference
