Hubby has been encouraging me to give it anyway, as it's a nice usable cozy quilt, but is it too darned ugly to give away?
As the little boy grows older he will like it - it is not pastel or girly! Your husband might have the right insight...ask him to explain, maybe.

So I guess it was a hit, despite my apprehension... The grandmother (my friend) told me those were the mother's "colors", exactly. She said they were so NOT into traditional baby colors, they painted his room gray.

So, okay... Can't ask for better than that. I guess I'm just some kind of perfectionist snob that I didn't think the quilt was gift-worthy... Ha!
I read all the posts to see the feedback !!!!

I don't think it is ugly and agree with many of you that it is a quilt a little boy can grow up with. A baby isn't a baby for very long!!!!!

I like it a lot better than the chocolate & teal or pink & brown that the young mothers all seem to be going for this year. I think your quilt looks "homey", warm & comforting and with the subdued colors; is fitting for either sex.

Yes! I agree! I have a couple of quilts my late mother had made for my children...darker colors, almost masculine, but warm flannel and the kids loved them!

What a sweet legacy that you have her quilts to hold after she is gone. :)
