I LOVE your quilt but I am also interested in knowing about how the chain piecing helps cutting the pieces.

Can you please let me know about how big the finished quilt will be and for that size how much of the floral fabric I would need to buy. I'd like to order it now but I'm afraid I might not order enough. Would it look okay if I just used all of that fabric on the dark side of the block since there are so many different colors - and then a few different fabrics on the light side? I do love Log Cabin blocks. My very first block was a practice block and it was log cabin - will save it forever. Thanks for any help. Pat[/quote]

My quilt is going to end up 72x72 or close to it. I think it would look beautiful with just that one fabric. I wanted mine to be lighter and get darker as the logs went out. I will try to put a post together after work showing how to make a block chain piecing.

You have done a beautiful job. The borders really add too it. It is great to be able to make something so nice from your stash.

WOW! Log cabin quilts will never be the same. Think I'll start sorting fabric for one of these. Love the barn raising setting.

I absolutely love your floral log cabin blocks. Log cabin was my Moms favorite quilt. I think I might need to put it on my bucket list.
