I've got the predeployment nerves to deal with so I was having a hard time focusing on sewing yesterday/today. Thankfully I got these done right (because they're both paper pieced) but there came a point when I said, "This is it for the day." And I walked away and balanced the checkbook instead.

Hopefully things will be better tomorrow.

Dear Groovy Pieces....my sincere apology for this block. I read the instructions carefully. I was doing very well until I folded it in half and stitched together the left and right unsewn sides at the 1/4" mark where I started stitching the triangles onto the square. From there I ran completely off into the cornfield and couldn't find my way out. What you are seeing above is my ill-fated attempt to make it be a block. It is a scant 12 1/4 inches.

I would ask you to send me additional fabric to give it another go, however I am not sure I could promise better. If you would like I can use the fabric I have left (all four colors) to make a different pattern that would compliment this one. Just let me know....

Morning All . . . Just getting in from work & catching up on the 'Board'.

Bee Beatty . . .No Worries. . . Don't stress. . .I can deal with the scant 12.25". This is where 'Design Opportunity' comes into play. The block is fine as is . . .Thanks for making it . . . GP

Well it seems that everyone is having trouble doing the pattern that requires templates. So perhaps in the future that will be something that I tell folks not to pick. LOL. I was so excited with mine but it was a scant short. So when Groovy sews it together, I don't think the scant will show.
Off to quilt on a quilt that I have been working on for 2 1/2 years. I was hand quilting it and that is why it is taking forever to do. And it is huge. I am near the outer borders and I am now doing it by machine. I just want to get it done. It is for my own bed. I am getting to hate it.

When I am done and not so embarrassed, I will post pictures!! Didn't count them, but there are a lot! One of the reasons I was sorting is cause I purchased a couple of the annual DVD's and I can get rid of those magazines!! I love to sit and look through my magazines. I like even the oldest ones. I have stopped buying them unless there is something in there that I really like. I'm a bit of a hoarder. A clean one, pretty much, but a hoarder just the same!! LOL

Groovy...thank you for being gracious about this. I will send it (my husband thinks it looks great, however he is my biggest fan! ) and I will include a little surprise.

I had to share this photo with my fellow boomers....the first little crocus peeps out and daffodils right behind! Yaaayyyy! Spring is in the air.
