Sad to say that Jukis are made in China.

Janome's are made by Janome, not some little shop in China.

I didn't have enough time to also add that I want a long throat area to fit big size quilts (once I get one made!). I haven't even tried machine embroidering but I would like it to be an option down the road. I currently have a 1990's model Viking Husky & a Pfaff 2027 quilting machine but it does not have a large throat area at all.

I can go higher then $2000.00 but it would just be longer before I could buy it but I am willing to save to get something that will last me for years!!

    Either a Janome 7700 or a Janome 6600.

This is only meant as a joke...and it was hard for me not to say this....

If I had $2000 dollars I would spend $150 on a Brother Machine (Ive had mine now since 2006) and would spend the $1850 on fabric and thread oh and lunch and a pedicure and a manicure and a Good book. LOL

Anyways, I am sure that you will find you a nice machine. And I am sure that you will get lots of suggestions. So good luck to you.

Easy, a Singer featherweight, the rest would be on fabrics

If I only had $2,000 I'd put it in the bank and save up for the new Janome Horizon.

Every person has a different like for the feel of a machine...test drive them all. I know when I test drove a Viking, I didn't like it, but I know they are good machines. I bought a Pfaff 7550 about 8 years ago and have never liked the feel of it but it's a wonderful machine. I have a Baby Lock now and its my treasure. I've used Janomes and like them, too.

Depends on what you need it to do ... ?
IMHO the Janome 6600 (you'd have a good bit of $$ leftover) or put it towards the Janome Horizon, great machines ... All major manuf have very good models, go take some test drives ! :)
