We are worried about friends and family that live in the South. Our prayers are with everyone...

I am going to have to put a roof on my house and cut a tree down but other than that I should be okay. Might as well go ahead and relandscape the thing, my yard is ruined from all of the tree limbs falling and the rain.

But there was at one time 6 tornadoes on the ground at the same time all around us. I saw one go over our home before it touched down a mile or two from here. I am so glad the storms are over with!!!

Billy - thank goodness that tornado didn't touch down on you, but I feel so helpless for all the others. May you be as lucky through the rest of this awful storm season!

Shortstuff - thank goodness that you were spared, too. It's so hard to comprehend when you see huge trees blown over.

We had a tornado touch down in our town several years ago (very unusual in CT) and the ONLY thing it did was to take down many 100 and 150 year old maples. None of them hit power lines or houses, but it was a shocking display of nature's power.

One cannot imagine how horrific nature can be. This episode will undoubtedly go down into the history books. I offer my prayers of hope and comfort to those who have lost so much. ♥ ♥ ♥

I live 15 minutes from Tuscaloosa, Alabama-we got the straight line winds Wednesday morning around 5am and have not had power since. The tornado that destroyed Tuscaloosa was headed straight for us and then turned to the NE and got Pleasant Grove and Concord. We are thankful it bypassed us but sad for the ones who lost all. One of my coworkers lost his mother in Pleasant Grove-there is death and devastation everywhere-we really can use all those prayers you are sending up-keep them coming!!!

My family is in Huntsville, Toney and Monrovia. I still have not been able to get through to them. I know they don't have power.

Thoughts and prayers are with you all. I was shocked when I see the one from Al. and other states. It looked like a bomb went off and I wondered where do the people hide. We have no cellar here either. What in the world can people do and I heard that May is a worse month. I just pray for you all daily. Try to stay safe and well. Sue

Tornadoes are surreal. Billy, it is amazing that you kept your power but lost your roof. Glad all are safe!

Hi from South central MO...we had one tornado touch down close but it jumped over us. I woke up to part of old barn roof missing and part of round pen (horse pen) blown down. The steady 4 days of heavy rain and non stop T-storms just about unnerved me (and that doesn't happen often).
My heart goes out to all of those who are suffering from losses due to these terrible storms. Hugs and Prayers! Waiting to hear from all of our Q-board members in the storm ravaged areas. Billy , Crafty Chick and Shortstuff, glad you are all safe! Things can be replaced though not always easily but not one single life can be. That kind of loss leaves a hole in the heart that can never be filled!
