    The pattern is "Blackford's Beauty" page 100 in Rotary "Riot" (Judy Hopkins & Nancy Martin I noticed it right away as I made 2 of them for 2 grand daughters.

    it looks like a version of "Wood Lily". "Star of Many Points" is a similar block. Both can be found in "Sampler Supreme" by Catherine H. Anthony, published 1983 by Leone Publishing Co. Santa Clara, California. Hope this helps.

    My quilt guild just had a workshop making this quilt. It is definitely Granny's Stars. Our instructor made hers all in 1930s prints, which were so pretty!

    yes-it was in that issue of Fons and Porter-our quilt guild made it a block lotto where everyone made a block -then names were drawn and the winner got the blocks. One of our master quilters won and made the gorgeous quilt.At our quilt show in August she donated it for a raffle and my best friend won it. She is a quilter also and she was soooo happy. It is a gorgeous quilt.
