On the Antique Roadshow, costume jewellery can be quite valuable but does anyone actually wear it? I think the Family Jewel tree is great. It's get all that old stuff out on display instead of in a box somewhere. Like your quilted jewel cozy too.

I LOVE THAT! I almost bought one slightly similar off of Craigslist last year, but it was dusty and not in the best shape. Just a ton of neat old jewelry glued into the shape of a Christmas tree!

That's a good concept, however, I love the Family Jewels and think I would leave them "exposed" year round. They make such a nice story and are a great reminder of your mother and aunt.

I have one similar to this that my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law made many years ago. The one I have also has a string of those tiny lights put in from the back into tiny holes they drilled. The outline of the tree is made from discarded chain necklaces and the insides are all from earrings, pins, etc. I love it but never thought of making a covering for it - that's a great idea. I love your tree to.
