    Gorgeous!
RE lines drifting as you sew, maybe you could place all the pieces onto fusible feather-weight interfacing, which would help stabilize them before sewing.

    split 9P block?
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words!

oksewglad - I knew i wasn't using the term correctly. I should have called it a 1" square. Which would make a 3" split nine patch. So each square and HST is 1" and the quilt before the border was put on was 16 x 16". Oh Gosh - that means that it is the same size as the one on the link! LOL - how silly i feel!
Unlike you, who can make a perfectly marvelous split nine path at only 3/4" big... I have yet to master that. i am so impressed by your work! and thank you for the wonderful compliment on the poem too - i can see by your signature poem that you do like good poetry!

Helen thank you! i will have to give your idea a try. I'm going to also get Sally Collins book on Mastering Precision Piecing. i just know I am doing something wrong here and it happens every quilt i make!

That is so beautiful...isn't it amazing what can be done with something so simple as squares and triangles? This quilt really brings that point home.

This is superb, I see no drifitng, maybe you are too hard on yourself? I have learned that sometimes fabric has a way of its own, lol. I am sticking to that. Love the quilt, such execution!

Thanks for the enthusiastic words everyone!

And sewbeadit ... thanks for your insight too! It isn't "smarty party" - LOL! Yes I am often my own worst critic... especially when I want to learn how NOT to do something. I hoped maybe people here would have tricks they use to keep the rows of blocks from drifting askew as they are sewn together. LOVED the pictures of the quilts and sun dyed fabrics you've been working on!!! Will write back soon.
