Love your color choices and the backing fabric. It's touching that you are acting as a substitute mom for your daughter's friend.

You mentioned that you wanted to make a rag doll to go with the quilt. I made a Raggedy Ann doll with Simplicity pattern #9447. I made her in pink and white with pink hair, she came out beautiful. Thought this might give you an idea. She was so much fun to make. Enjoy. (sorry for the size, I resized it in my photos but it reverted back)

Kath, Thank you so much! That is exactly what I have been looking for and had not found anything I thought was very pretty. This one is adorable! I'll stop at Hancock tomorrow evening and get the pattern. Did you embroider her face? I don't have an embroidery machine, although I do know how to embroider by hand. Or I was thinking of using textile paint to put the face on. What would you recommend?

The nose is appliqued and the rest is hand drawn by me with fabric paint. My daughter who is 44 now had the same one when she was a little girl. A friend of mine made it for me but I told her I wanted it just like this because her room was pink and white. My daughter still has her doll. I made this one for my friends grand daughter who has Downs syndrome. She loves her. She puts her in her little shopping cart and walks around with her and then she sits with her in front of the mirror and talks to her and posses her. It just warms my heart that she loves her. Emma is such a beautiful loving child. This doll is 15 inches but the pattern is also for 25 and 36 inches. I used muslin for the body and head but now I found out that Kona Cotton is better because it's a tighter weave. I hope this helps. My husband was so upset to see her go that I had to promise to make another one lol. Oh I forgot, the pattern calls for safety eyes but since I didn't want anything that could come off I opted to use fabric paint.

Thank you Kath. I think I'll do it the same way. It is so cute. And thanks to everyone for the nice comments. It's funny how scary it is to post photos for everyone to see! It is fresh out of the dryer now and looks good. I pressed the points a little, but it would not have been absolutely necessary. The points were very fun to do.

Your quilt is gorgeous and I hope you finish up the other tops you have. You look like a natural to me.
